Muscle Milk Review

On July 6, 2010, in Uncategorized, by admin

It is one thing to find a protein powder that mixes good and tastes great. It’s completely another thing for that protein powder to actually be effective. You can say that a protein powder is only as good as the person that is taking it. You can’t take a protein powder at eat lots of calories or never workout and expect to see results

I will admit that I have issues with Muscle Milk. I am not a big fan. I have done a Muscle Milk review before and mentioned multiple reasons as to why a person is better of buying other quality whey protein powders instead of this one. There are several powders that I think are better choices than Muscle Milk. Optimum Protein Powder, of BSN Syntha 6 would be just a couple of powders that would be better.

In July 2010 I found out that Consumer Reports had tested several protein powders for quality. Muscle Milk just happened to be one of them. To be specific it was the Chocolate and Vanilla flavors of the powder. The powders were tested for various things including metals. Muscle Milk tested very high for cadmium and arsenic. The levels were far higher than any other products that were tested.

Since the report it seems that the problems with the metals has been resolved. Muscle Milk continues to be a preferred product for many individuals that supplement with protein powders.

My advice is as mentioned in a previous review, don’t use it. As mentioned earlier, there are better choices out there. If you like this protein and you want a few more calories, no big deal. Buy a quality protein powder and add some things to your protein powder to give you those calories. I know people that use frozen yogurt or ice cream. Peanut butter is a popular choice as well. I also know of people that use a tablespoon or two of olive oil to give them some good fats and calories.

So that’s it. If it were me I wouldn’t buy Muscle Milk. As I said before, some people will buy it no matter what. Just google Muscle Milk and see what you come up with. the more information you can get, the better the chances are that you will make the best decision for yourself.

  1. Nice reviews. As per i know about protein powder from that i like to tell you that there is many brands are available in market and you have to choose good one for you. If you choose good one from that then it helps you to get healthy life and also help to burn extra fat and build muscle.

Looks like someone got their feelings hurt.

I did my research…..Muscle Milk tastes good, but that’s it. It’s a terrible choice of proteins if someone is trying to change their physique. If you don’t care about your physique, then yeah, it’s a great product.

Thank you for your review.. I recently started working out and I was thinking about using Muscle Milk..honestly, the main reason is because I don’t know Anything about this stuff and because I recently saw a commercial for this product. But luckily, I decided to research..thanks again

My favorite is Optimum Protein. It tastes pretty good and is much lower in fat than Muscle Milk. If you want to go with something along the lines of Muscle Milk, try Syntha 6. It has a little bit of fat in it and it tastes really good too….plus the proteins used are of higher quality.

Thanks for the review, I was leaning towards buying muscle milk because I wanted to get a mix that already have creatine in it. After reading your review I do have mixed feelings, can you recommend other products that are a protein+creatine mix thanks again!

There aren’t a ton of proteins that have creatine in them. Musclemeds’ Carnivor comes to mind, also Nitrotech by Muscletech is another one. Also look into Elite Primal by Dymatize. It is very similar to Carnivor. There are recovery products that contain Protein and Creatine, but as far as Protein + Creatine exclusively that’s all I can think of at the moment.

It really doesnt matter what whey protein powder you take, they are all for the most part bad for you. Why you ask? Cause cow’s milk is meant for cows not for human consumption. They dont digest well and can cause intestinal toxemia. Powders like MM are really just all very clever marketing, the product as mentioned here is mostly garbage. Whey protein’s only redeemable quality is that it digests fast, or thats the illusion you’ve have been fed…

At any rate, You would be much better off buying a plant based protein, such as hemp, rice, or pea protein, or a combonation of all. These proteins digest easily and restore the pH balance in you stomach, which if you have been eating a ton of whey and red meat, you are probably acidic. Alkaline is what we are looking for. If you absolutely must have whey go with most organic available. But Dont take my word for do the research.

Sir, thank you for the review. I am an MM (muscle milk) fan and i have had good results from it. I respect your opinion about how it stands vs other competitors and i will not take issue with that… to each his own, right?…

However, please do not be misled by the table that you have included in your review. Arsenic is poisonous in large quantities, yes… But so is oxygen and vitamin C. Arsenic, as well as cadmium, is an essential micromineral in humans. Meats and poultry contain as much as 25 micrograms per serving… And this table from consumer reports indicates that muscle milk contains 16 micrograms in THREE servings of cadmium AND arsenic combined… thats not a whole lot, in fact, its right on target to supplement your daily intake of these microminerals to ensure that you are getting your daily requirement of arsenic and cadmium— given that the user is not eating copious amounts of meat, fish, poultry, almonds, and other arsenic containing foods that would put them over budget.

Since arsenic in these trace amounts is actually a good thing, i submit that the higher levels contained in MM is actually a reason TO choose it over the competition. Ive included a source below…

    Just my $.02

Again, to each his own. Work hard and eat right!

Oops…. Meant to say that MM contains 14 micrograms, not 16…. I can read a chart, i promise!

  14. Hi! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform. http://tinyurl.com/boq4ehq
